Let customers speak for us
from 19 reviewsThank you for taking us on a magical journey through the clouds. We had a blast!!
I remember, as a child, laying on my back on beauiful fresh grass on a summers day, eyes watching the sky. I often looked at the clouds and all their magical shapes inspiring my imagination. That's just what this book does! Amy Greig has so much talent. With it's beautiful illustrations of a child, his buddy Pickles and those clouds; your childs imagination is activated. This joyful and curious story captured my grandchild's attention immediately. She was pointing to Pickles before i could turn the first page. I loved that it was actually a story not a quick one line per page. The story unfolds easily but begs the reader to keep turning the pages to find the answer....Why Is The Sky So Far Away? My 20 month old granddaughter sat with me and allowed me to read it and my 9 year old grandson read it to me. Lovely book with a wonderful engaging story line, vivid illustration and a perfect length with a heart warming ending! Highly recommend!!
Loved this book! The illustrations are magical ! Each page captivates the child and the readers imagination
Note: I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily. This is an amazing book to read in December before Christmas, even reading it on Christmas Eve will give it an enchanting meaning if read along with children. This is a beautiful story, and the illustrations are according to every step of the story.I think the book can be read to toddlers aged 2 to 3, and later on, they can be encouraged to read along with an adult. The final goal is for them to read it on their own when they are 7 years old.Notably, this book can also be easily read by students of any age who are learning English as a second language and are at a Beginner (A1) to Pre-Elementary (A2) level, as the lexicon used is easy to understand.
I so enjoyed this book myself and am taking it to read to my grandkids this weekend. There is some small adventure on every page. The art work is fantastic and there is one special line that leaves you looking to the sky.
We absolutely loved Why Is The Sky So Far Away! The story was sweet and engaging and the illustrations were bright and full of charm, keeping my son’s attention from start to finish. It quickly became a bedtime favourite in our house!
The book is very enjoyed by little toddlers, easy for them to understand with the lovely illistrations
A really captivating gothic fantasy novel following a young child investigating the mystery of a surreal house across the street. The novel is very emotive and deep with symbolism and metaphor, with secrets slowly unraveling themselves the farther you get into the story. I'd recommend to anyone into dark fantasy and mystery. Great read!
This is book one of the Mom club Confidential series. It’s a relatable story of a couple finding themselves and their marriage within all the chaos of family and life. The chemistry between the two main characters can be felt on every page. This story is well written and will draw you into the characters emotions. You feel all their angst and love. I can’t wait to read more of this series. This review is based on an early review copy I was sent by the publisher, but this didn't affect the content of my review that I am voluntarily providing.
As an educator, I find this book to be a wonderful read-aloud for students. The soothing illustrations evoke a sense of peace and tranquility, drawing students into the various environments each animal inhabits. The rhythmic text not only introduces young learners to rhyming patterns but also encourages meaningful discussions about their own "calm places" and animal behaviour. I eagerly anticipate more stories from Nicole Pigeon!
This book was so cute!! Right off the bat I will say that this book is absolutely perfect for "younger" young readers due to its simplicity. Sentences were short and easy-to-understand, which also makes this book great for parents to read with their little ones.Another thing about this book that worked really well was the lack of a plot but the presence of a structure. While there wasn't a set beginning or middle, it was still clear that the book was coming to an end, which is hard to pull off but was done perfectly. However, the thing that really brought this story full-circle were the illustrations. Each and every penguin was utterly adorable, and I really admired how the illustrator played around with light and texture.Bravo!!I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
